The Indo-American Center in Chicago invited several panelists, including Furqan Mohammed, to speak to Northwestern University School of Journalism students about the social and legal issues affecting the South Asian community in Chicago. Among other things, the panelists discussed (1) the origins and growth of the community in Chicago; (2) the strengths and weaknesses of the community; and (3) how the community has been affected in the first 100 days of President Trump’s term.
