After months of hard work creating and coordinating the programming for the National Association of Muslim Lawyers’ (NAML) 2017 Annual Conference, Furqan Mohammed attended the conference to watch his programming come alive. There were approximately 200 attorneys in attendance. Presentation topics included immigration law policies under President Trump, engaging Muslims in the political landscape, and special break-out sessions pertaining to the intersection between Islamic and secular law. Special keynote addresses were provided by Illinois Senator Dick Durbin and Faiz Shakir, the National Political Director for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
